Turning Tees around for Dallas Startup Week
Global Threads provides thousands of shirts for Dallas Startup Week
Offering a lower cost of living and robust job growth, Dallas continues to be a popular destination to move to—attracting ample young talent and businesses of all sizes. Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is known for housing dozens of corporate headquarters and Fortune 500 companies including ExxonMobil, American Airlines, AT&T, and Tenet Healthcare, just to name a few. Along with these corporate powerhouses, entrepreneurs and startups are popping up all over the Dallas.
To showcase Dallas and its rapidly growing startup community, Techstars sponsored a 5-day event with opportunities for mentorship and partnerships within the city’s growing entrepreneur ecosystem. Techstars Startup Week featured over 100 different events, sessions, and topics, catering to all different types of entrepreneurs. Global Threads was among these startup companies two years ago, when it first moved its headquarters from Seattle to Dallas in 2015. Kyle McAllister, founder of Global Threads, knew it was important to get his company plugged into Dallas’ thriving startup ecosystem from the get-go.
As the owner of a young business venture, McAllister understands the importance of networking with other young entrepreneurs. That’s why for this year’s 2018 Dallas Startup Week, taking on a more active role was a no-brainer. Global Threads supplied over 1,300 t-shirts for the 5-day event, providing shirts for volunteers, track captains, committee members, and panelists. It was an exciting opportunity to get involved with Dallas’ trailblazing entrepreneurs.
